This is an adventure story with romance, police work, paedophile, pornography, violence, murder ... thrown in.
Most mothers would warn their daughters about such a fate that is worse than death: being held as a sex slave to be used and abused, being recorded on video as unwilling porn stars. Yet many teenagers would still run away from home. Not all of them would have Colt Nightshade to rescue them from such a fate.
Reading about Lieutenant Grayson's past of being raped by her foster parents' son and how it affected her reminded me of one of my contacts. I met this ex-patriot in a social function. She is both attractive and intelligent. I was surprised that she is single. Much later I heard from the grapevine that she was sexually abused as a child. Maybe that turned her against men and marriage.
Perhaps this book should be made compulsory reading for thirteen year old girls. That would make them realize what is out there to prey on young, helpless, penniless female runaways.
