(752) An honest medical doctor 2

Last year my mother was suffering from pain in knots of growth on the side of her feet. We went to the old Indian GP whom my father respected.

The aged doctor asked many questions and examined the problematic sites. He sat and kept quiet for at least five minutes. Then he said that there is no use in cutting the parts as it was not puss inside. He asked very odd questions,"Do you go for morning walk everyday?" and "When do you leave the house and what time do you return?"

His prescription is for my mother to delay her walk by fifteen minutes. On cloudy days she should sit in the garden for half an hour to expose her legs and arms to the morning sun. The root cause of the problem apparently is the lack of vitamin D, which is best obtained from the sun as we live in the tropics.

This is a year later, the knots were still there disfiguring her feet, but at least they were not causing her pain anymore. I thank God for this very special doctor as he is such a blessing!
