(749) Zelda's short term mission to London

I was sitting at the end of Zelda's bed. She was moaning that she owed the bank two months' installment for her car. She threw a question my way,"Why do you think God allow this to happen?"

"Do you really want to know?"
"Obviously!"
"I think he wants you to go to London. But your thick skull didn't register that! Remember that wonderful job offer four years ago? What about the all expense paid trip offered by your star client one and a half years ago? Lately your new client introduce one person from London to you, your son's dream course is in UK. See, everything points to UK ..."
"But you know why I refused those offers."
"Ya. But why don't you just apply for that mission trip and pray for funding, then wait to see what happens?"

Somehow we prayed for sixty thousand dollars, which included 1. airfare
2. expenses in UK  3. money to discharge all her debts to friends  4. money for all her bills before, during and after the mission trip  5. money for winter clothing and other incidentals.

By the time she was accepted by the mission organisation, there were nine weeks left. All she had in hand was fifty pounds given by an encouraging client who just returned from a vacation in London. Between that day and the night before the flight, deals just materialised: she sold one detached house and another apartment, let out a few condos and had one land deal pending. To be exact, fifty thousands either came in or confirmed will come in by February 2011.

You see, her excuse in not going was not to shame God in running from debts she had not yet cleared. But the crux of the problem is not funding, but availability. Once she applied and was serious in going, God who is jealous about His name and would not allow one of his children to owe others money while under His Majesty's Service.
